Update...

Just published some pictures finally. Internet connections continue to be a rare occassion so I do apologize for lack of pics and updates. It is now 2/15 and we have left Nairobi for the western city of Kisumu, Kenya. I am currently sitting in a KEMRI office on a beautiful campus. Meanwhile, Annie is somewhere in downtown Kisumu doing her tourist thing. I'll have my chance to join in oer the next few days. Tomorrow Annie and I will be traveling to the Kenyan Highlands. And on Friday we leave for the Mara. So it may be a bit until I am able to write again.

I seriously considered calling in sick today but alas, I had to work. I spent most of the day meeting with various people at KEMRI headquarters. Annie, on the other hand, toured the Nairobi National Park which is literally 10 minutes away from our hotel and borders the city. Here is a small taste of what she saw...

We're here!

Just a quick update to let everyone know that we arrived safely in Nairobi, Kenya last night. It is now Monday morning here and nearly 80 degrees...beautiful weather. As expected, the flight was terribly long and draining but we made it to our hotel in one piece. Well sort of...Annie proceeded to vomit in the elevator the second we arrived in our hotel!! She was sneaky though and used her sweater as a puke bag. No one was the wiser until we were in our room and pasta-flavored puke was everywhere. She has started to make vomiting in other countries a very strange habit. Internet access is sketchy so far so I don't know how frequently I will be able to post. But keep checking back for updates and pictures to come!

We haven't left yet...still have to get through this terribly long work week. Once we're on the move, I will try to post to this site as much as possible, but due to the nature of the trip, who knows. If things get too busy or inconvenient to blog, I apologize in advance. Regardless, I promise to take many, many pictures and present them properly when I return.
